Nick Daigneault
Chairperson
BEAUVAL, SK
Nick Daigneault, the mayor of Beauval, Saskatchewan, has demonstrated exceptional leadership in coordinating emergency measures during the 2015 wildfires and the COVID-19 pandemic. HE is a highly engaged and influential leader in the community of Beauval, SK. As the Mayor of the Northern Village of Beauval and Chairperson of Beauval Development Inc., he plays a vital role in overseeing operations, economic development initiatives, and updating policies and procedures. With an extensive background in executive positions, he brings strategic planning, financial management, and project supervision skills to his various roles.

Robert St. Pierre
Vice Chairperson
LA LOCHE, SK
St.Pierre is a former mayor of La Loche has demonstrated strong leadership during challenging times, including overseeing the response to the 2016 school shooting and the COVID-19 outbreak in the community. Currently he is a project liaison manager for NexGen Energy Ltd.

Val Deschambeault

CUMBERLAND HOUSE, SK
Valerie Deschambeault is a dedicated community leader with a strong commitment to serving the Northern Village of Cumberland House. As the former mayor, she demonstrated effective governance and worked tirelessly to address the needs of the community. With her experience as a community consultant, Valerie advocated for disadvantaged communities in the eastern region of Northern Saskatchewan, ensuring their voices were heard by governmental ministries. Her decades-long dedication to providing community services showcases her unwavering passion for the betterment of Cumberland House.

Elmer Campbell
Governor
DILLON, SK
Elmer is semi-retired and served as the chief of Buffalo Narrows Dene Nation. HE has also served as the chief executive officer for the Buffalo Narrows Economic Development Corporation. He has a focus on creating a healthy economy in the Northwest and seeks business opportunities and joint ventures to generate revenue for the community. He is passionate about promoting tourism in Buffalo Narrows, highlighting its natural beauty, pristine beaches, and abundant fishing opportunities.

Susanne Fern

FOND DU LAC, SK
Susanne Fern is a dedicated community advocate with a strong background in community services. As a former band councillor of Fond du Lac First Nation, she actively worked towards the betterment of her community. Alongside her role as part-owner of SAB construction, Susanne currently contributes to the Fond du Lac First Nation Prevention department in Finance, utilizing her expertise to support the community’s well-being. Susanne has consistently demonstrated her commitment to providing valuable services to the people of Fond du Lac.

Bev Cheechoo

CUMBERLAND HOUSE, SK
Beverly Cheechoo is an experienced Early Childhood Education Instructor with a deep commitment to fostering the growth and development of young learners. With training in P.A.R.T, ASIST, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, she brings a holistic and compassionate approach to her work. Her dedication and contributions were recognized through the C.T.F Outstanding Aboriginal Award in 2010. As a resident of the northern region, Beverly embraces the Land Based Educational Approach, recognizing its value in connecting individuals to their cultural heritage and the environment.

Ken Gray

Ken Gray is a highly dedicated educator with an impressive 40-year tenure in Laronge. His commitment to education extends beyond the classroom, as he has also served as a sessional lecturer for Biology and Chemistry at prestigious universities in Saskatchewan. Ken’s passion for education is particularly evident in his strong focus on improving educational opportunities in northern Saskatchewan communities.

Doreen Polischuk

Doreen Polischuk is a passionate advocate for equal education opportunities, firmly believing that everyone deserves access to quality education. With over twenty years of dedicated service on the La Ronge/Air Ronge School board, she has actively contributed to the betterment of the local education system. As a long-time resident of La Ronge, Doreen understands the significance of preserving language, customs, and culture in the northern communities.

Thomas Sierzycki

Thomas Sierzycki is an experienced government executive and education advisor. He has been worked with the Ministry of Education, where he provided strategic engagement, financial, and human resources support. Sierzycki has also served as a director for the Saskatchewan Business Response Team during the COVID-19 pandemic. He has also served as the mayor of the Town of La Ronge, where he focused on community development
