NORTHLANDS COLLEGE

ACCESSIBILITY

Northlands College is committed to ensuring everyone can access the supports, services, and resources needed to participate fully in college life.

ACCESSIBILITY AT NORTHLANDS COLLEGE

Northlands College is committed to ensuring that all students, staff, and community members can learn, work, and participate fully in every aspect of college life.

Our Accessibility efforts align with The Accessible Saskatchewan Act, which requires public sector bodies to identify, remove, and prevent accessibility barriers.

Our Accessibility Plan (2026–2029)  guides our work for the next three years and will be reviewed every third year to ensure continuous improvement.

This webpage provides:

  • Our Accessibility Plan (2026–2029)
  • Supports available for students and staff
  • Current and upcoming accessibility initiatives
  • How to request accommodations
  • How to share feedback
  • Key resources and contacts

Survey results from October 2025 highlighted a major concern: many students and staff do not know who to contact for help or what resources are available.

This webpage is designed to address that gap directly by clearly listing supports and contact points in one location.

OUR COMMITMENT TO ACCESSIBILITY

Northlands College serves northern Saskatchewan across Treaties 5, 6, 8, and 10 and the Homeland of the Métis peoples.

We are working to create learning and working environments that are:

  • Barrier‑free
  • Safe
  • Inclusive
  • Culturally connected
  • Respectful of diverse northern communities

Accessibility means improving physical, digital, informational, and attitudinal access for everyone.

NORTHLANDS COLLEGE ACCESSIBILITY PLAN (2026–2029)

Our Accessibility Plan was informed by meaningful consultation with:

  • Students and staff who identified as having accessibility needs
  • Indigenous Elders
  • Employees across all divisions
  • Senior leadership
  • Community members

The plan will be reviewed and updated every three years, as required by The Accessible Saskatchewan Act.
