Northlands College Hosts Capable North Kick-off Speaker Series with Global Leaders Sharing Transformational Experiences 

Northlands College, a leading education provider in Northern Saskatchewan, hosted its highly anticipated Capable North Kick-Off Speakers Series on April 12th, 2023. The event was attended by local and online viewers from across the world who were keen to learn and be inspired by the experiences of the speakers.

The panel of speakers comprised of a diverse range of global leaders and included Cecilia Mzvondiwa, a human rights activist and lawyer, Dr. Phil Ker, the former CEO of Otago Polytechnic, Dr. Glyns Ker, the primary architect of the independent learning pathway approach to qualifications offered through Capable NZ, Colleen Charles, an Indigenous Studies Instructor from Northlands College, and Tom Weegar, an education and strategic consultant.

During the event, the speakers shared their experiences and insights, offering unique perspectives on topics such as the role of healing through art, innovative approaches to education, and methods for change and self-determination.

Karsten Henriksen, President & CEO of Northlands College, emphasized the importance of learning from great leaders and being inspired by their experiences. He said, “Learning from the experiences of great leaders can provide us with valuable insights and perspectives that can help us to grow and achieve our goals. It is important to be open to new ideas and to be inspired by the achievements of others as we strive towards our own success.

The Capable North Kick-Off Speakers Series was a truly inspiring event that left attendees feeling motivated and empowered to take their own paths towards success.

To be deemed qualified, an applicant must meet the minimum entrance requirements and complete the application procedures which includes providing all required documents.
