Heavy Equipment Operator – Buffalo Narrows(NexGen)

Certificate Students in this approximately one‑month certificate program will learn to operate loaders, graders, backhoes, and skid‑steers through a combination of hands‑on training and classroom instruction, supported by career planning and comprehensive safety skills modules. Graduates are prepared for employment in construction, pipelines, public works, logging, and related industries. This program is ideal for individuals with good eyesight and hearing, strong manual dexterity, and physical mobility.

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 10
  • Class 5 Driver’s license
  • Any experience operating heavy equipment
  • Qualified applicants must provide: Driver Abstract

  • Admission to the program will be determined through a successful interview process.Priority consideration will be given to applicants from NexGen’s Rook I Project’s Local Priority Area (LPA) – situated within the traditional territories of the Clearwater River Dene Nation (CRDN); Birch Narrows Dene Nation (BNDN); Buffalo River Dene Nation (BRDN); and Buffalo Narrows, as well as La Loche, and the surrounding communities located within MNS-NR2 Clearwater Clear Lake. Seats are limited & may be filled before the application deadline.
