Northlands College Unveils Retro Logo to Celebrate its History in the North

[La Ronge, Saskatchewan, June 21, 2024] — Northlands College is proud to announce the unveiling of a retro logo for the 2024/2025 academic year, reflecting the colleges strong history serving the communities of Northern Saskatchewan. Inspired by the beauty of Northern Saskatchewan and the college’s historic identity, the new retro logo encapsulates both tradition and forward-thinking values.

Karsten Henriksen, President & CEO of Northlands College, shared his thoughts on the retro logo:

“This logo is a symbol of the College’s roots to Northern Saskatchewan and the proud identity it holds to be an integral part of the regions we serve. We are proud to continue our pursuit of newer and enhanced academic opportunities for learners across this vast geography and look to empower our learners to prepare for the demands of Industry 5.0. The logo, depicting an open book, stands as our invitation to not only our learners but also the industry. We welcome collaboration towards innovation for a stronger, growing, Northern economy grounded in truth and reconcilliaiton.”

The retro logo reflects Northlands College’s dedication to opening doors to more academic opportunities and fostering strong community ties. The design, an open book in front of scenery depicting the beauty of Northern Saskatchewan, signifies the college’s openness to learning and collaboration, inviting industries and learners alike to join in building a robust educational and economic landscape in Northern Saskatchewan. The logo will be used throught the 2024/2025 academic year and will complement the college’s strandard visial identify and mainline logo.

As part of its mission to enhance educational and professional opportunities, Northlands College is actively partnering with key organizations in HealthCare and Mining sectors. These partnerships are set to not only enhance programming opportunities for the local population but also address the labor demands in these critical industries, ensuring that learners are well-equipped to meet the challenges and opportunities of the future.
