Northlands College launches Capable North

Northlands College is pleased to announce the launch of “Capable North” as part of its 2023 Year of Transformation. “We are proud of achieving this important milestone,” said Jocelyn Vandall, Northlands College’s Director, Flexible Learning, and the leader of Capable North.

Capable North creates a critical space that brings together the people of northern Saskatchewan to explore new skills that develop themselves, their careers, and their businesses, agencies, or organizations. “Capable North is about celebrating the people and the opportunities of the North and is led by local and national experts,” said Northlands College President, Karsten Henriksen.

Capable North facilitators seek to support northerners with ongoing development, meeting learners, business, and organizations where they are on their journey and supporting them in achieving their vision for the future. Capable North offers work-integrated learning opportunities, industry certifications, micro-credentials, general interest programming, and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math camps. “The North is very dynamic, and our shared future is bright. Capable North is about celebrating and creating opportunities for all of northern Saskatchewan,” said Henriksen.

Courses are provided at your local campus, via distance, or directly to yourNorthlands College launches Capable North workplace. “As Northlands College has one of the largest service regions in Canada, we actively work to apply the appropriate delivery tools to meet the needs of all of the North,” said Henriksen.
