The Mineral Exploration Techniques program is a brand new post-secondary program. It is designed for those interested in gaining entrance to the Mineral Exploration job market. This one-year certificate program provides students with the entry-level knowledge and skills to function as a valuable member of a mineral exploration team.
Northlands College Mine School will offer this program with in-class instruction, labs, field schools and a possible work placement.
Graduates may find employment in: geological surveys, sampling, field work and GIS. Other employment opportunities may include geological assistant/technician, geophysical assistant/operator, core technician, field assistant/technician.
Graduates of this program may choose to pursue a diploma in Mining Engineering Technician (MET) through Northern College; subsequently, some credits from the diploma program may be transferable to select university degrees.
