The Indigenous Continuing Care Assistant (ICCA) program is a full-time program delivered as a one-year certificate program. Courses and practicums are designed to prepare learners who live independently in their own homes and to provide holistic care to those living in continuing care settings. Students will be trained to effectively care for and assist seniors and individuals who have chronic conditions and may face physical or mental challenges.
Graduates can expect to work as Indigenous Continuing Care Assistants and patient service associates (NOC 33102) as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, providing care for residents, clients, and patients in continuing care, acute care, and home care settings.
