Adult Essential Skills

The Adult Essential Skills program is designed for adult learners who are at the Pre-Adult 10 level of Adult Basic Education (ABE) and interested in boosting their essential skills.

The program is divided into Levels 1 and 2.  Areas of study include:

  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Math
  • Career Exploration
  • Computer Skills
  • Life Skills

Learners living off-reserve can apply for the Social Income Assistance (SIS) and may be eligible for the Employment and Training Incentive (ETI) benefit.

Learners living on-reserve may contact their band for more information on possible funding opportunities.

Minimum 18 years of age
Out of high school for at least one year
Score at an Adult Essential Skills level on academic assessment

Qualified applicants will be accepted to the program until all seats are filled. Once full, qualified applicants will be placed on a waitlist.
